Role: Head of Music

  • Ben Cherrill (Benstar) was responsible for a&r, label management and digital strategy on multiple branded albums and individual artist projects whilst at Ministry of Sound
  • Album projects included; Carl Cox from Black Rock Desert (Burning Man), James Lavelle from Bangkok and Darren Emerson from Bogota
  • Responsible for driving music operations and strategy across all Global Underground products
  • Creatively directed and managed the Carl Cox ‘Black Rock City’ album photo shoot and pr activities, on location in Nevada in 2009. This project was Carl’s one and only album for GU
  • Ben also managed the branded touring & event business worldwide, attracting sponsorship & branding partners
  • Developed the music publishing & creative sync divisions at GU
  • Artists worked with at GU included; Carl Cox, James Lavelle, Darren Emerson, Nick Warren, Plump DJs, Nic Fanciulli, Sultan and Shepard, Trafik, Jim Rivers and Eelke Kleijn
  • Curated and booked the GU live tent at SW4 festival in 2009, the talent line up included James Lavelle, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Nic Fanciulli and Darren Emerson
