These globally recognised music collections originally started life as eclectic mixes compiled by DJ Jose Padilla in Ibiza, and were first sold on cassette at the end of the 1980s. The series has now sold over 15 million copies worldwide
- Ben Cherrill (Benstar) – a&r for Manifesto Records, part of the Universal Music Group
- The Café Del Mar compilations were co-compiled in conjunction with DJs Jose Padilla, Bruno Lepetre and Manifesto’s Eddie Gordon & Luke Neville
- Ben Cherrill (Benstar) licensed music for these albums, from many internationally recognised artists including Moby, A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire), Thomas Newman (American Beauty), William Orbit (Madonna), Dusty Springfield, Bush, Dido, Goldfrapp and Nitin Sawhney
- Ben Cherrill (Benstar) – executive producer and co-compiler on Volumes 6,7 and 8, and executive a&r on Volume 5
- Ben Cherrill (Benstar) was awarded BPI sales awards for Volumes 6,7 & 8. Each individual award recognises sales in the UK of more than 60,000 units per album
